چکیده

Interdiffusion coefficients of the refractory elements in Fe-Cr-X (X 1⁄4 Mo, W) and Fe-Mo-W ternary alloys were measured on the basis of the modified Boltzmann-Matano method for ternary systems. The cross interdiffusion coefficient, ~ D CrW was positive in Fe-Cr-W ternary alloy, indicating that W accelerates interdiffusion between Fe and Cr atoms. On the other hand, the cross interdiffusion coefficient, ~ D CrMo was negative in Fe-Cr-Mo ternary alloys, indicating that Mo suppresses interdiffusion between Fe and Cr atoms. In addition, the cross interdiffusion coefficient, ~ D WMo was positive in Fe-Mo-W diffusion system. This result implies that Mo addition accelerates interdiffusion between Fe and W. Irregular Homogeneity Domains in Ternary Intermetallic Systems

Ternary intermetallic A–B–C systems sometimes have unexpected behaviors. The present paper examines situations in which there is a tendency to simultaneously form the compounds ABx, ACx and BCx with the same crystal structure. This causes irregular shapes of the phase homogeneity domains and, from a structural point of view, a complete reversal of site occupancies for the B atom when crossing t...

Induced Codeposition of Mo and W from Aqueous Electrolytes

Mo and W alloys are recognized for their outstanding corrosion, wear resistance and catalytic properties towards the generation of hydrogen. The electrochemical codeposition behavior of Mo or W with iron-group elements (i.e., Ni, Co, Fe) exhibits induced codeposition, since they cannot be reduced alone, but only with iron group elements. Although Mo and W have been intensively investigated, the...

Composition, Morphology, and Topography of Galvanic Coatings Fe-Co-W and Fe-Co-Mo

Ternary coatings Fe-Co-W with an iron content of 40-55 at.%, cobalt 39-44 at.%, and tungsten 4-12 at.% and Fe-Co-Mo with an iron content of 40-55 at.%, cobalt 39-44 at.%, and tungsten 4-12 at.% were obtained by galvanostatic and pulse electrolysis on the mild steel substrate from iron(III) citrate-based electrolyte. The influence of electrolysis mode and parameters on composition of deposited a...

MoS2/MX2 heterobilayers: bandgap engineering via tensile strain or external electrical field.

We have performed a comprehensive first-principles study of the electronic and magnetic properties of two-dimensional (2D) transition-metal dichalcogenide (TMD) heterobilayers MX2/MoS2 (M = Mo, Cr, W, Fe, V; X = S, Se). For M = Mo, Cr, W; X = S, Se, all heterobilayers show semiconducting characteristics with an indirect bandgap with the exception of the WSe2/MoS2 heterobilayer which retains the...

Thermal stability of Fe/Mo layers

The thermal stability of an iron/molybdenum bilayer was determined using Rutherford backscattering spectrometry and X-ray diffraction. Substantial interdiffusion (3%) was observed upon annealing at 973 K for one hour. High temperature annealing of Fe/Mo layers in oxygen ambient is therefore not suitable for the formation of magnetite layers.
